Port Rayne |
| The year is the present. The town of Port Rayne is a small, out of the way place with some modernization and a lot of odd occurrances. Founded in 1749 by the Rayne family, Port Rayne has always been an attractive spot for the paranormal. Though such things are kept quiet and out of the national press, the locals speak of many legends. The question for any new arrival in town... are the local legends true... or just that... legends? |

| It began in Scotland, or so it seemed...the world was changed, perhaps not for the better, but definitely changed, with the advent of mysteries thought only a part of the folklore, magic seeping through now into the world even as continents themselves were broken, creatures of mythos making their presence known and even the dead once again rising from their presumed final resting places... It is the middle of October, 1892. The alterations are by no means complete, a young woman who possesses two sets of memories and was but a few days earlier a mere child now finds herself confronted with this New Reality... |

| "I have sworn eternal hostility against every form of Tyranny over the mind of man." The Djunnt Empire, an aggressive and xenophobic species, has been plunged into civil war. Once it threatened the Federation with war and a deadly alliance with the Tholians. Now the Djunnt Empire, ravaging itself from within, threatens the Federation with a massive humanitarian crisis and countless border skirmishes. Previously the Sovereign-class Yamato was assigned to ensuring the integrity of the Federation border. Now she must prevent Imperial Djunnt forces from slaughtering fleeing rebel refugees, whilst preventing the refugees from launching attacks from within Federation space. Every facility in every sector along the Djunnt border is in the process of preparing for a crisis that no one appears able to avert and that Starfleet may not be able to handle. Several other starships have been posted permenantly to the region to protect Federation allied shipping along the border regions and to be on the scene in case skirmishes reach flash point proportions. Operating along the Djunnt border, Yamato must preserve the peace... But at what cost? ----- Captain's note: Yamato has long been a pedestal of security and peace along the Djunnt borders and we intend to keep our reputation that way. Tolerance extends to all genders, races and sexualties but not to incompetence or cowardice. Tyranny is here... we dare not shy away from it. |
